Blog 16 - Advert

This is a picture of Paramore's advert for their tour on for their new album. The advert is dominated by a group picture of the band. In front of them is a picture of a dissected butterfly which appears on the front cover of the album. The connotation of this image is that even something beautiful someone would be willing to 'tear it apart', this is a metaphor to Hayley Williams' (lead singer of Paramore) love life.

This is a image of Blink 182's advert for their tour with guests. In the background is a picture of their album cover and in the foreground is a picture of the band members re-created in a sort of abstract theme. The colours of the advert are in pink and black which typically represents the punk genre. The titles of the band look like they have been writen on tape and placed around the poster in obscure angles. This also represents the punky genre. The reason being for this is when punk first started it was an unheard of and low-budged genre; and when transporting equipment they used to write their name on tape on the equipment. To this day punk bands try to represent the old days however big punk bands are very well paid.
Analysing these adverts the thing they have in common is that someone on the page there is a picture of the bands album cover. This shows what album they are playing on tour but also for people to recognize the album.
